Always Take The Weather With You

They are English. They brought the weather with them.

I had always heard that attending a Radiohead concert was a SM experience (Thom is well-known to tell the crowd to shut up, or be quite moody) but everything went well… but for the weather.

Radiohead was playing in Montreal and we drove the 400 km there and back to attend the show. By the time we got through the security, we were soaked. The park where the concert was held was extremely muddy — let’s just say I hadn’t been that dirty since I was 5 and loved to jump in pudles of water.

The show was great though. Over 40,000 people attended and the place was packed. Given the weather and the fact we waited for 4 hours for the show, we chose to stay at the back (no way we would have made it at the first row anyway) and enjoyed the view.

We even got fireworks. In the middle of the concert, the casino nearby decided to have a long fireworks and Thom Yorke commented: “There’s always money for fireworks, the least they could do is put them at the fucking end“.

400km just for a concert. I’m thinking it was worth it, even with the mud!

Just say it!
