Snowy Scarves

February 4, 2008 – 6:33 pm | 28 Comments

As you can maybe tell by the layout of my blog, I love colors and patterns, so I often take close-up of goods on display in markets: food, veggies, clothes and yes, scarves. I loved the mix of snow flakes and the fabric here.

Woman On Top

January 28, 2008 – 6:34 pm | 27 Comments

On Saturday, I took a walk on Parliament Hill, downtown Ottawa, and decided to go up in the Peace Tower. At 300 feet (almost 100 m) tall, the tower was built to commemorate the end of WW1.

One... Spider Taking Over The City!

January 24, 2008 – 1:00 pm | 21 Comments

My English chum, Graham, is currently hosting a Photo hunt at One Man’s Travel Blog. The theme of the month is “One” and here is… one major threat to the city of Ottawa, the one thing that could overthrow the Parliament — one big spider!

Winter In Canada

January 2, 2008 – 11:10 pm | 27 Comments

Winter has settled in the capital, and lately, we have been able to enjoy Canada’s trademark weather: pure blue sky with a high of –20C. But don’t think the weather is stopping us from going out.

Snow, Snow, Snow... And More Snow

December 3, 2007 – 5:05 pm | 27 Comments

I managed to dig my way out and get the mail. Beautiful trenches, isn’t it? However, there’s not way I can shovel the driveway and back out with the car… there’s at least 60 cm of snow. The snow banks on the side of the road are almost a meter high! So I’m home, on the coach and I watch the blizzard.

Through The Storm

November 25, 2007 – 10:00 am | 30 Comments

On Monday night, while I was outside getting some fresh air smoking a last cigarette, I noticed a few flurries in the sky. But when I woke up the next day, there was just a bit of frost on the grass. So, when Tuesday night I saw flurries again, I thought it would be gone the next morning.

Canadian Skies

November 10, 2007 – 6:00 pm | 26 Comments

Canadian skies always amaze me: clouds can be just gorgeous!

Hockey Night

October 10, 2007 – 11:13 pm | 14 Comments

Canadians love their game, but the whole atmosphere is surprisingly friendly. Toronto is hated by everyone — hence the “Toronto sucks” jerseys wore by die-hard fans — but no hard feeling here : it’s a game. I remember the soccer games back in France where the anti-riot cops have to be there during the whole game to prevent fans to go crazy… Canadians’ passion is much more peaceful .
