Chinatown In Ottawa
I love ethnic neighborhoods.
I use to hang out in Chinatown a lot in France. As a student of Chinese language, it was the best place to pick up notebooks and 小说 (novels), chopsticks and bamboo baskets to steam dumplings.
Ottawa’s Chinatown is quite small and not as colorful as in other cities. Yet, it’s a great place to go out for a walk, to sample authentic Chinese roasted pork, Vietnamese Pho and Korean Kimchi, to buy noodles, tofu and dried mushrooms.
I like the old houses along Somerset Street, where Chinatown is located. It’s a relaxed and artsy neighborhood where walls and painted and people actually walk around instead of driving.

That’s pretty.
It’s a bit too fake for my liking though.
Lovely tour! I like going to Chinatown because the crowd, noise and dirt reminds me, strangely, of Indian markets… LOL

Happy Sunday and a great week ahead.
Btw: I had a visit from a Singaporean in Oslo last week. You may read about my guiding through the city in my last post. Do you think you would consider to participate if I organize a blog gathering next August?
