Chinatown In Ottawa
I love ethnic neighborhoods.
I use to hang out in Chinatown a lot in France. As a student of Chinese language, it was the best place to pick up notebooks and 小说 (novels), chopsticks and bamboo baskets to steam dumplings.
Ottawa’s Chinatown is quite small and not as colorful as in other cities. Yet, it’s a great place to go out for a walk, to sample authentic Chinese roasted pork, Vietnamese Pho and Korean Kimchi, to buy noodles, tofu and dried mushrooms.
I like the old houses along Somerset Street, where Chinatown is located. It’s a relaxed and artsy neighborhood where walls and painted and people actually walk around instead of driving.

Oh, I love Chinatown too! Unfortunately, Manila’s Chinatown is way too far from where we lived, since we lived in the suburbs, but in Japan, the Chinatown we visited almost all the time was the one in Kobe! I had piano lessons in Kobe once a week, and every time I would pass by Chinatown either on my way to or from the school. I would get some interesting food items, either the deep-fried chicken pieces, or the kwapao (spelling?), or some bowl of dimsum. That was just way too good to pass.

Does every city in Canada have a Chinatown?
I should know, but I don’t.
The one in Toronto is a treasure to explore — and to eat in!

I think every major city in this world will have a China town. they are so famous and well spread.
Not many people on the street. Seems like very quiet…
