Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand. "The music itself wasn’t a problem. One good thing about 300 years old buildings is they are pretty soundproof. However, when the disco closed its doors at 4 am, people would gather on the streets, their faces red from the heat and the alcohol, and all heat up. They then indulged themselves in common night activities such as : puking in the street, yelling out to their friends, arguing about where to go next and throwing glass bottles at each other. They would fight and occasionally stab each other. Then the police would come and arrest the wrong people. Which would lead to more fights. And less sleep for us." I like how you explained that. Honestly, I prefer the noise - It seems that when it is peaceful I just can't sleep. I spent a few weeks in a resort town in Europe and that was the best sleep ever.

Experimental farm? Do they grow "tomacco"?

“I grow my own weed!” … did you know in this country they bust people growing it big-stylee by 1. monitoring electricity bills (though surely you could cheat by routing electricity from surrounding buildings, which is a crime in itself I spose) and 2. by using heat seeking camera things. bc it has to be done with hydroponics under massively bright lights, this makes the house glow white hot under those special cameras …
just a little thought that popped into my mind just now …

Getty72 : wow... Weather has been crazy in Europe these last few years. The last summer I spent in France was the hottest one ever (remember, 2003...) and now it's flooded !
