I had enough trouble being stuck in an airport for 4 hours but it certainly sounds like you two have had a right old ordeal! All you want to do is go and see you parents - it isn't that much of an ask is it!? I hope that you manage to get there eventually and hopefully have an uninterrupted flight back with no problems - you deserve it!
