Happy birth­day, Canada!

Like every year on July 1st, the crowd gath­ered on Par­lia­ment Hill to cel­e­brate. And like every year, I couldn’t believe how busy it was…! Appar­ently, from 150,000 to 300,000 peo­ple usu­ally come.

This Canada Day is a bit spe­cial to me since I will become a Cana­dian cit­i­zen this Fri­day. So I walked around, from Par­lia­ment Hill to the Byward, from Rideau Street to Kind Edward, tak­ing pic­tures and enjoy­ing a small burst of patri­o­tism. Hope you don’t OD on Cana­dian flags!

There were peo­ple eat­ing, danc­ing, skat­ing, tram­polin­ing, bik­ing, walk­ing, singing every­where. Ottawa is def­i­nitely the place to be to cel­e­brate Canada!
