How To Get Rid Of Telemarketing

10 May 2007By Zhu 8 Comments

I’m cooking some red peppers when the phone rings :

- 喂,你好,黄先生系唔系屋企?

I hate bloody telemarketing, especially in Cantonese.

- 对不起,不会说广东话。(“Sorry, I don’t speak Cantonese…” in Cantonese)
- 喂, 你好,你是不是。。。
- 对不起,不会说汉语。(“Sorry, I don’t speak Mandarin…” in Mandarin)
- English okay ?
- Sorry, I only speak French.
- 拜拜 !

Yeah, bye bye…

I Love the look of your blog, as well as what you are saying. However, I have not come across Chinese telemarketers. I have a technique that I use; if I answer the phone and say hello twice with no response, then I am sure that I have been hot by a predictive dialer and I simply hang up.

I have frequented quite a few blogs that you have also frequented so I thought I would take a look at yours. So far I like what I see.

Would you be interested in a link swap? Check out my site http://mondaymorningpower.blogspot.com. If you like what you see and agree, then link my site to yours, leave me a comment on my blog that you have done so and I will immediately do the same.

Yeah, it’s a shitty job. I’m never rude, but don’t call me after a long day at work or worse – early morning. Basically, don’t call me. In Cantonese. Or aything else.

Chinese telemarketing, hmm, I haven’t had that yet! Telemarketers ALWAYS call during dinner, I dunno why, it’s a sixth sense of theirs I guess… Initially I’m annoyed, but I never hang up, I try and be nice and tell them I’m not interested, I feel bad, what an annoying job for them…
