It had been a crazy day in Ottawa. We had woken up to a beautiful blue sky and sunshine and had decided to eat out and then go for a walk. But suddenly, about half-way through my Vietnamese noodles, we heard the thunder. The sky had opened up it was soon pouring rain. It quickly turned dark and wind blew the rain hard against the windows of the restaurant.

Why do we fight today ? Because they attacked us first. Civil war. Biological war. Because we want to protect our values. Holy war and war gods. Because they have the bomb and they’re not supposed to. Preventive war, atomic war. Because they torture. War crimes. Because we have weapons to sell. Economic war. War of attrition. Phony war. War games.
Indeed, I have actually never really moved in Canada. Well, at least not “move” in the real sense of the word. In 2002, I showed up with no more than a backpack — full of summer clothes since we were coming back from South America. I did go to France many times since then but I didn’t have much to bring back anyway. My clothes weren’t really Canadian-winter proofed, my books were too heavy and well, we didn’t have a CD players so no point in taking my music collection (although I did copy it on my laptop).
It’s time to give out free ad spots!
And the winners of The “Win An Ad Sport” Contest are…
Okay, let me first take a red pen (teacher training blahblahblah). Oh, first of all, let me thank my contesters: Ghosty, Jé Maverick, Seraphine, JoAnn, Linguist In Waiting, Johnada, Beaverboosh, Theresa, Colleen, Aiglee, Art, Kyh and Scarlett.
It’s contest time!
Just like in February, I’m organizing a new contest to give you a chance to display your ad on my blog.
Here we go again… this is my entry for Graham’s March Photography Challenge! The theme for March is “destruction” (lucky me, it could have been “spring” and I would have been fucked… still a few meters of snow on the ground here!) and I thought this picture would illustrate it nicely.
It’s time to announce the winners of The Tricky Questions Contest! First of all, thanks to all of you who participated. I had to moderate the comments for a while because some smart English guy (Wapentake, yes, it’s you!) got most of the answers right only a few minutes after publishing the post.
So here is the deal. I’m going to ask you to answer five questions, each one being a little bit tricky, of course.
As you can maybe tell by the layout of my blog, I love colors and patterns, so I often take close-up of goods on display in markets: food, veggies, clothes and yes, scarves. I loved the mix of snow flakes and the fabric here.
My English chum, Graham, is currently hosting a Photo hunt at One Man’s Travel Blog. The theme of the month is “One” and here is… one major threat to the city of Ottawa, the one thing that could overthrow the Parliament — one big spider!
For you guys, I created the “Citizen Of The World” button/ award.
