Every year, Sparks Street in downtown Ottawa is smokin’ hot. For five days in June, about twenty teams from Canada and the United States compete for the top rank of best rib choice, best rib sauce, best chicken choice and best chicken sauce.
It had been a crazy day in Ottawa. We had woken up to a beautiful blue sky and sunshine and had decided to eat out and then go for a walk. But suddenly, about half-way through my Vietnamese noodles, we heard the thunder. The sky had opened up it was soon pouring rain. It quickly turned dark and wind blew the rain hard against the windows of the restaurant.
Here we go again… this is my entry for Graham’s March Photography Challenge! The theme for March is “destruction” (lucky me, it could have been “spring” and I would have been fucked… still a few meters of snow on the ground here!) and I thought this picture would illustrate it nicely.
As you can maybe tell by the layout of my blog, I love colors and patterns, so I often take close-up of goods on display in markets: food, veggies, clothes and yes, scarves. I loved the mix of snow flakes and the fabric here.
My English chum, Graham, is currently hosting a Photo hunt at One Man’s Travel Blog. The theme of the month is “One” and here is… one major threat to the city of Ottawa, the one thing that could overthrow the Parliament — one big spider!
