The Loire River

It has been unusually hot these past few weeks and everyone is trying to cool off. Weather is usually temperate in Europe and Nantes is not built for the heat—there is no air-con for instance and locals seem to think another cold beer is the only solution to la canicule.

The heat doesn’t affect me much and I actually enjoy going out for long walks late at night, especially along the river.

  1. That building reminds me of Beijing’s Bird’s Nest.

And yes, it is hot here in Berlin too, and most people just resort to sunbathing. There isn’t any AC, even in my office, but then again, I suppose being in a city where the highest monthly average temperature doesn’t get higher than 25 means that ACs aren’t a good investment.
