The Pink Lake

The 363 km² Gatineau Park, in Québec, is located about twenty minutes drive from Ottawa, Ontario. One of my favorite place there is the Pink Lake. The surface of the waters are a deep green due to the abundance of algae in the water… or a deep blue, depending on the light. The two kilometers walk around the lake offers a great view on the forest and the waters.

Isn’t Canada lovely in the Fall?

  1. I have to agree Zhu! Pink Lake is one of the most awesome views in Gatineau Park, may be followed by Lac Phillip.

    I don know why but Canada looks great in every season… Autumn and its reds and leaves and so on. Winter has some whites that make you realize that there was actually more than one white! Spring, although muddy and rainy, shows the rebirth of life in a spelnedrous way. And finally summer… it makes color explode!

    See you around!

  2. I think I only been to that park once. But your shots are great! By the way, when will you do a post on your award?

  3. Zhu,

    Canada is gorgeous in the Fall! These snapshots are lovely, once again, I must thank you for such gift! 😀

    Now, why do they call it Pink Lake? I didn’t see anything similar to pink there…nevertheless it is a fantastic place!
    Qu’il est beau Québec, non? Vraiement beau!

    Cheers

  4. canada is always beautiful. my travel experience has been to british columbia and victoria island, but i’ve also flown over canada on flights to and from europe. it’s stunningly beautiful, no matter the time of year.

  5. I’m going to go with two other noters: why is it called Pink Lake, and where are the coloured maples? Maybe autumn hasn’t reached it’s height there yet? Still, it’s gorgeous – that lake looks so calm and perfect.

  6. Dear Zhu,

    I am so happy to be here today because although I did not make it to Quebec last year, you have shown me just how beautiful & blissful this place it.

    Thank you 😀

  7. @Guillermo – You’re so right, Canada looks good in every season! I haven’t been to Lake Philip in a long time but you give me a good idea for my next visit.

    @aline – I think it’s actually someone’s last name!

    @Bluefish – Thank you! I put the award in my trophy room and linked to your blog 😉 I’m really bad at giving awards, I have a bunch waiting…. sorry.

    @Khengsiong – Coming soon 😉

    @Sidney – Canada is very clean and unspoiled actually, this is one thing that amazed me when I first came here.

    @宝茹 – Thank you! I’ll post some pictures of the red leaves later on this week 😉

    @expatraveler – It actually started already, I took the Pink Lake pictures a week ago already.

    @Max Coutinho – Pink is actually someone’s last name I think. I wondered too!

    @Seraphine – I have heard BC was wonderful, I’d love to visit. But our landscapes in Ontario are pretty good as well.

    @Brenda – I took the pictures a week ago and because it was very warm lately, the leaves were a bit late. But I’ll post some pictures later on this week.

    @shionge – I’m sure you will get a chance to visit again, and that you will love it 🙂

  8. Canada is beautiful in the fall. Reminds me a bit of Norway 😉 I think you came home from China just in time. I love the water shots…especially the one of the log, it has such good texture.

  9. @Bluefish – The trophy room is right there:

    I try my best to pass the awards when I get as chance as well 😉

    @DianeCA – Our two countries are very similar! And yes, I’m glad to be here for the fall, it’s a nice season.
