¿Y Ahora Qué?

Crossing The Border Back To Panamá
Crossing The Border Back To Panamá

And now what?

We went to Panamá (in Panamá City, David and Boquete) and then to Costa Rica (in Quepos, Playa Coco, Playa Tamarindo, Liberia, Monteverde and San Jose). We tried to cross to Nicaragua but could not make it.

There is no way we are coming back to Canada now. So we bought a plane ticket to… Perú. We will arrive in Lima, and travel in South America for quite a while.

I´m not telling where we want to go because I´m superstitious and I don´t want to jinx it but you can expect more adventures along the way. South America should be… interesting. We have been there before, in 2002, but we rushed because we wanted to be in Brazil for the carnival and had spent too long in Central America. This time, we want to take the time to explore. That said, it is a huge continent and we can expect long bus ride, interesting border crossings and a varierty of lanscapes… and weather.

We have to leave from Panamá City, so we bused all the way back there. We were in San Jose and it took two days, including a one night break in David. Man, we gotta love these buses… But the border crossing was smooth and they didn´t even bother searching us this time. Not that we have anything to hide, mind you.

Panamá City is very quiet this time, unlike before Christmas. We have a few things to do before leaving on Tuesday, like reconfirming the plane ticket and buying toiletry products, but other than that, we have just going to rest a bit. It´s hot again and we are not used to it…. especially after being in the mountains in Costa Rica.

I can´t believe we have been traveling for almost a month now. It´s not that I don´t like Canada, but I really don´t feel like coming back right now. The routine gets to me and I love the freedom of traveling, even if it has its downsides. I don´t want to see the end of the road…
