I have a statistics plugin, but I rarely check the numbers because they are… ahem, numbers. I don’t like numbers. That said, it is the end of the year and since everybody is doing it (looking at numbers, not the other stuff), I thought I would follow the crowd.
The blog currently counts 1,510 articles and 21,988 comments. The subscriber count fluctuates between 900 and 1,500.
March was the month when the blog was most visited (165,708 visits… what the hell did I write about that month?!), followed by January (138,070 visits, which must have been our trip to Mexico) and April (137,746 visits). December was the slowest month (79,131 visits so far), probably because eating holiday food and unwrapping gifts is more interesting—I can’t compete with Santa, I know.
This year, these were the ten most viewed articles (averaging between 7,000 and 5,000 views):

I am looking at my numbers right now and they are just dismal since moving to the new blog and not bothering so much about marketing it as much etc…must improve this year! I do read your words, but I must say I only normally read that days post as per bloglovin (today it is three), but I love your archives for the info on visas etc! Also, I have been reading for so long now I don’t need to re read posts etc x
Man, I don’t even read my own archives 😆 Too many articles after 7 years of blogging… I don’t care much about the numbers, although it is rewarding to see articles read so many times!
Whatever the numbers, I enjoy reading your blog and I’m looking forward to more interesting and inspiring articles. Thanks for all the good work so far :).
Thank you for being here 🙂
I love these kind of posts, thanks for sharing! I’ve been reading your blog on and off for quite some time now and wanted to leave a comment to say THANK YOU for sharing so much useful information tips and overall extremely helpful posts on immigration and life in Canada in general. I think most of us read and often don’t take the time to leave a comment but know that you have many grateful readers who adore your style of writing, keep on the good work and Happy 2015!!
Thank you so much for being a grateful reader. Now, I’m the one who is grateful for you to take the time to read our adventures!
I am Russian living in Slovakia, but I didnt find Slovakia in the countries’ list 😉 enjoying your blog, especially trips and Mark part, as having a 2 y10m son I find myself in your sad and funny stories, having loved my son, but at the same time realising that I was missing my time. Your trip to central America persuaded me to go to Tanzania for a 2week volunteer work. Thanks for inspiration!!
I have yet to visit Slovakia, and I would love to go. Just haven’t had the chance yet! This is cool that you have a toddler as well. Is he the same mix of slightly annoying but overall very lovable? Congrats on volunteering. The world needs more people like you!
Wow, I’m impressed … for the whole year I did not even get the traffic you did in the Month of December 🙂
Happy new year by the way!
