Radiohead Concert in Montreal

They are English. They brought the weather with them.

I had always heard that attending a Radiohead concert was an SM experience (Thom is well-known to tell the crowd to shut up or be quite moody) but everything went well… except for the weather.

Radiohead was playing in Montreal and we drove the 400 kilometres return for the concert. By the time we got through the security, we were soaked. The park where the concert was held was extremely muddy—let’s just say I hadn’t been that dirty since I was a five-year-old kid who loved to jump in puddles of water.

The show was great though. Over 40,000 people attended and the place was packed. Given the weather and the fact we waited for four hours for the show, we chose to stay at the back of the field (no way we would have made it at the first row anyway) and enjoyed the view.

We even got fireworks. In the middle of the concert, the casino nearby decided to have a long fireworks. Thom Yorke’s reaction? “There’s always money for fireworks, the least they could do is put them at the fucking end.”
