It’s Finally Feels Spring-y around the Central Experimental Farm

Some days are hot, some days are cold, but we are slowly getting there—spring is on the way. The grass is green, little critters can be spotted all around the city and flowers are blooming. It will take a while to be in full spring mode, but at least winter should be behind us by now.

Hopefully, I didn’t just jinx it.

On a nice sunny day, I went to explore part of the Central Experimental Farm, close to where I live. I usually go there for the lovely ornamental gardens but of course, it’s too early for flowers yet. However, the light was beautiful that day and we started to wander around the buildings.

We skipped the Canada Agricultural Museum (I’ve seen cows before…) but quickly got lost in the maze of old colourful buildings, most of them research facilities belonging to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Blue, bright red, yellow, orange… some had a fresh coat of paint but on most of them, it was peeling badly, adding to the atmosphere.

I love that we can escape so easily from the city… while still being in the middle of the city!
