This Thanksgiving weekend was amazingly hot, with temperatures in the mid-20°C. It’s hard to believe it’s fall and I think we are in for a shock when temperatures will plunge, which is bound to happen sooner or later.
The leaves are slowly changing colour but the whole process seems to be a bit later this year. On Saturday, we went to Vincent Massey Park, a good alternative to Gatineau Park, which is packed at this time of the year. There weren’t a lot of fallen leaves on the ground (sounds like a Billy Talent song!) but the colours were lovely in shades of green, red, orange and yellow.
Fall colours without fall temperatures? I’m sold!

Amazing pictures!!!
Thank you!
Great photos, I’m not sure we are going to get much Fall color (colour?) here in Oklahoma because of the extreme heat causing many trees to lose their leaves months ago. So I’ll just enjoy yours.
Aw, that’s too bad. Fall colours are one thing that make cooler temperatures enjoyable!
So beautiful! It looks like a great place for a walk or a jog 🙂
It is! Right by the Ottawa River and Carleton University 🙂
I’ve seen some colour in the Netherlands and it made me happy although it was nowhere as beautiful as in Canada 😉
After so many years in Canada, I think I’d miss fall colours. Fall is so blah in France…!
Wasn’t the weather gorgeous last weekend!? Your beautiful pictures remind me of the cottage – wish we’d had Thanksgiving up there.
I think a lot of people re-opened the cottage for a WE, there were like no cars in my street.
Beautiful, I love Fall too…especially when the weather cooperates and it stays warm. The leaves have just barely started changing here, I’m liking the longer autumn.
So do you get to see nice fall colours like in Canada? Fall in France is usually very wet and leaves just fall…
Those are gorgeous photos. That’s the kind of foliage I was talking about on my blog. The Gatineau Hills will be flush with colour soon too, if they aren’t already.
Is it me or colours were late this year? Gatineau Hills are just changing colours now it seems.
OMG!!! The red leaves are totally amazing! The park is just like a fantasy park which I can only see it in my imagination. It’s Autumn, but my little hometown the leaves are brown not red. > u < Hardly to find fallen leaves as beautiful as they are in the Vincent Massey Park. 🙂
It is a lovely park! Fall has a very nice atmosphere in Canada, it’s very unique.
OMG. Gorgeous pictures, Zhu!!!! Fall in Canada is -to me- a spectacular time, and you have managed to captured it perfectly
Thank you 😉
Awesome colors and more importantly, awesome shots! I like the second one from the top, where there is a focused part and everything else is just a blur!
You now have your own copy 😉
I like the contrast in the Massey Park – great pics. It seems there is still quite a bit of greenery left.
Yes, fall was late this year and some trees are still all green.
It was such a beautiful weekend! Glad you got out and enjoyed it! 🙂
Great pictures! I particularly like the fourth last one!
It was gorgeous, wasn’t it? We were so lucky!
Ah this is inspiration! Wishing we could get out to our big park like this. Loving your wide angle shots… Inspiring! You should print and frame a few of these, they are good!
That’s my plan, I love fall light so much, it always looks good in picture. I should have a few more of these to The Shop…
