After relaxing by Meech Lake, we headed to our favorite viewpoint, atop the Eardley Escarpment. From the Champlain lookout, perched 335 meters above sea level, you get to have a bird’s-eye view from the Gatineau Hills over the Ottawa Valley.
The leaves colors weren’t as vibrant as the previous years, probably because it rained so much lately. Yet the Fall atmosphere was unmissable: pumpkins for sale, rusty colours and falling leaves.
you see construction, I see Canada’s “Plan d’action, Economique du Canada”!Ha Ha
I can’t wait for construction season to end….
talk to you soon
Beautiful pictures, Zhu!!! I never get tired of looking at the amazing colours of the fall… I too have a post coming up tomorrow (part of my series)
Beautiful fall colors!
By comparison, the green leaves here are a bit boring…
Salut Zhu,
J’adore!!! Les couleurs de l’automne rechauffent le coeur et flattent les yeux.
Mais, tu peux bien garder les vers 🙂
Bisous
Beautiful! I love Gatineau Park! Did you buy a citrouille?
This is what I missed the most during fall in Canada. Once again, you take lovely photos.
I love the contrasts of the colors, varying from all shades of the spectrum! You definitely have an eye for noticing the beautiful things in nature.
Beautiful Fall colors! Fall is my favorite season of the year, short but gorgeous! I hope I will get some shots as yours in this Fall season..:)
@Rich B – Eh, you are already bilingual I see! That’s how most Ottawa residents learn French, just read the propaganda signs and the back of cereal boxes 😆
@Gabriel – You inspired me to put up my pictures this time!
@khengsiong – But trust me, after our white winters, sometimes I would give everything to see green leaves again.
@barbara – Promis, je garde les vers… mais je ne sais pas trop ce que je vais en faire 😆
@Pauline – I haven’t bought a pumpkin yet. Mmm… I guess I should. It’s almost Halloween time after all!
@Poem – Do you miss it? I hated fall in France, so damp…
@Linguist-in-Waiting – Thank you! The colors are definitely more “rusty” and less vibrant this year but it’s interesting anyway.
@micki – I wonder what fall looks like over there… do you notice the change of season?
The views over the Ottawa Valley are gorgeous! What a beautiful area.
Woooow ! Superb fall pictures. The best I have seen so far !
Hi Zhu, long time no see. Just stopping in to say hi! Love those pictures, you are a real artist! And those pumpkins remind me I have to get a move on and get ready for Halloween. 🙂
Taiwan is a sub-tropical place, the leaves changing color is not very noticeable. There are a few places, such as parks or by the FWY, can see those colors. In southern California- it says that ” there are no four seasons in a year, but there are four seasons in a day!” However, the maple trees near where I live change colors every Fall. They look gorgeous at that time!
I love the mirror reflection and God I miss pumpkins. You see it is too cold for pumpkins in Norway, they grow but they don’t get orange because they need both that blast of warm weather in the summer and the frost. We can grow some small varieties but to get big nice orange pumpkins you need to import them here. I miss picking them from the pumkin patch when I used to go apple picking in New York. I think your colors are lovely!! Hope you had a happy Thankgiving too!
Lovely photos, it makes me miss pumpkin pie 😉
Yep, I miss it. Fall is not the same here in Denmark.
Hi Zhu! I need to remember to stop by here more often. Your photographs are really stunning. “Orange leaves”..I love this one especially.
I wanted to tell you that you have been featured on my blog today as a voice for peace. I hope you will be joining us again November 4, 2010 for another BlogBlast For Peace. I, and so many others, understood and commented on your words back in 2008. I wonder what you would say today…
Thank you so much,
Mimi Lenox
Finally!
Canada in its most glorious moment!
Isn’t autumn beautiful?!
The tree reflection is superb!
So many fall colors. My fav is definitely the Ottawa valley shot! I’m wondering if CS lives in the area (I don’t know my areas good enough)…
LOVE LOVE these shots! Reminds me of flying into Europe a time or two..
Ottawa is a village or what?? 🙂 The pictures are stunning!
We just drove back from Nashville and went through the Chattahoochee National Forest rather than the freeways. The hills in Tennessee and northwest Georgia were very much like those in your Ottawa Valley.
