I love cities by night. Most change a lot and reveal a totally different atmosphere — it’s like traveling. I’ve already shown you snapshots of Ottawa by night, Toronto, London, Paris… Here is Nantes, my hometown.

The city is very pedestrian friendly, especially the area around the castle, Bouffay, which has a lot of bars and restaurants. Others cool spots at night are the Isle of Nantes with the Buren Rings, as well as the Quai de la Fosse, on the bank of the Loire River.

    I will put Nantes on my visiting list. This town looks so peaceful, clean and beautiful. Great longer exposure night photos again! So good to know that you and Feng are having lots of fun! 🙂

    Those rings are so cool! I also love the picture of catching the tramway. The sky still being so light makes a nice contrast to the relative darkness of the street and the lights going on in the shops.

    I like the rings. I think you had a picture of them in your blog another time. They are cool at night.

    @Tulsa Gentleman: yes, I remember you commented on them lqst yeqr. I had never seen them at night before myself, this was my first time.

    @Soleil: the tramway one of my favorite, maybe because I always run to catch it myself!

    @Jorge Mora: gracias 😉

    @Cynthia: thank you!

    @khengsiong: it is a pretty cool city by night.

    Very nice! Given that it’s summer, I wonder what time these photos were taken, as it seems the light is very eerie and romantic at the same time.

    @Linguist-in-Waiting – I took the pictures after sunset, around 10:30 pm I believe. It wasn’t pitch dark yet, except for the rings one.
