  1. Hi! If it was me, I would have had both the pumpkin pie and the chocolate tart, seven times over. Glorious shots and I must say, you do live in a colourful world.

    My son drives a big rig from the top end of Australia down to the southern parts and last time he popped in at home, he was carrying 40 tonnes of pumpkins. We were lucky enough to get two of them! He is certainly a loving son. Take Care – Peter

  2. Happy Halloween! Its fun around here 🙂 Sweet kiddies are ready for their tricks if you dnt have a treat for them 🙂

    Hope you will have a good time today evening!

    Take care,

  3. Pumpkins, corn, bales of straw… i miss those so much!! Fall makes me so homesick. 🙁 I’m going to decorate my apartment for Thanksgiving tomorrow though. Maybe that will cheer me up a little…

  4. Ooooooooooooh I am sooooooooo homesick now!! Your pictures are just beautiful and everything I remember in my most idealized memories of life in North America.

  5. Happy Pumping Day and Halloween Zhu!

    My Diane urged me to read this post and watch the picture as they express the spirit of fall and Halloween in her home land. Thanks to your post and her explanation, I think I’ve got it.

    As she say: Norwegians just don’t get Halloween – at least in the way you do. So thanks for enlighten me!

    Wishing you a great end to your week 🙂

  6. @Guillermo – Thank you! Do you celebrate dias de los muertos in Argentina?

    @Peter McCartney – I like colors! I must say I’M not a huge pumpkin fan myself. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. Please call me if your son ever drives a chocolate truck! 😆

    @Annie – We always have candies for the little vampires and Harry Potter!

    @Scarlet – Glad we both agree on that 😉

    @Jennie – Sorry, I didn’t want to make you guys homesick… Halloween has no real meaning for me. But it’s a fun day of the year and I like the Halloween symbols.

    @Bluefish – Always! Although I do get tired of it after a few hours… we live in a very residential neighborhood.

    @DianeCA – Sorry! I would send a pumpkin but it’s a bit too heavy, isn’t it! At least you get to experience the Fall colors in Norway, which are beautiful. Our snow didn’t stay except for in the suburbs. Phew.

    @RennyBA – Thank you! Sorry for making Diane homesick… I’m sure you can cook something to make her feel better!

    @Aiglee – Oh, I took pictures… look at yesterday’s post! 😉

  7. i love how your pics transitioned form the orange pumpkins to the orange trees at the cemetary. really beautiful, zhu.
    haha. i love your little story about the friend who only dates nerdy guys.
    when i was in college, i had a friend who had sex with guys first so she could ‘get that out of the way’ and have a real conversation with them afterwards. or so she claimed.
    some pumpkins turn to carriages, some just stay pumpkins. i wonder what happens when you kiss one? hmmm…

  8. I noticed there was no kids on the street of my house…I think bad economy is preventing families to give out candies.

    We’ll only be going to Ottawa for a day ’cause I need to study for my finals.

  9. Happy Halloween Zhu. Lovely photos! We are still recovering from all the kids knocking at our door last night – I knew there would be a lot but phew…

    Never seen so many pumpkins in one place before (as in your photos…)

  10. i got a free sample of pumpkin pie at chateau safeway today. it’s enough, a couple of spoonfuls of pumpkin pie a year. i agree, zhu, chocolate is *much* better. 🙂

  11. @Seraphine – I have been kissing pumpkins for years and I still drive a shitty car. Don’t bother.

    @Bluefish – We did have kids, but fewer than last year. Weird considering the weather was gorgeous.

    @Caroline – There were a lot of kids last year but not so many this year. Not sure why…

    @Linguist-in-Waiting – I’m sure these pumpkins are edible. But who knows pumpkin recipes for months! Cause it would take a while to finish them…

    @Sidney – Thank you!

    @Seraphine – Nah, I’m not a pumpkin person. In a soup, I don’t mind, but not as a sweet.

    @johnada – Nope, no carving for me this year (no time) but I did feed a few zombies 😉

    @Khengsiong – These ones were small, maybe the two tennis ball together? The deep orange ones were huge though.
