The Olympic Green (奥林匹克公园)

Last Saturday, we finally got the chance to visit the Olympic Green. The olympic venues were scattered across the city, but the main ones were held at the National Stadium, the famous Bird Nest, and at the Watercube.

Getting into the park itself was a bit more difficult than planned: one those with tickets to an even that day could enter. Fortunately, we had tickets for track and field, which was held at the Bird Nest. We also went to the Closing Ceremony the following day.

The security wasn’t that tight. You just had to have the bags screened through an X-ray machine. Pretty much everything was okay to take but food and drinks, which were sold inside the stadium at normal price anyway. No army guards everywhere, no fingerprinting or God knows what.

The Olympic Green is huge. It’s located North of the city, linked to the brand new subway system which was improved a lot for the Olympics. The two main sights are of course the Watercube and the National Stadium.
