Hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, we got a surprise snowfall. The weather recently got warmer and it always feels humid. With all the rain we had lately, the trees, grass and plants are chlorophyll green and I think this time I can say it’s spring. Finally. In May.
The opening weekend of the 2012 Tulips Festival was very warm, and most of the flowers had just bloomed. Dow’s Lake was packed and people were fighting to have their picture taken by the flower beds. Eh, this is Canada, we don’t get to see flowers in the wild half of thee year!
Lovely sea of colours, isn’t it?

I found a beautiful yellow tulip in the back garden last week – all on its own and in a place I’d never planted any bulbs. Yellow was my mother’s favourite colour – and this was so close to Mother’s Day…
I like to think it was a sign. The miracles of nature! 🙂
That’s beautiful! I would have thought of a sign too.

I’m from Toronto and thinking of coming to Ottawa for the Tulip Festival on this long weekend. Do you think the tulips will still last until then? Thanks.
I emailed you with tips.
