“Do you want to go play with grand-maman and me?”

“No. I go church.”

“Let’s go to the park!”

“I GO CHURCH! People sing in church. Music. Ding dong, ding, dong…”

Oh, for fuck’s sake… I mean, for Christ’s sake. I swear I sinned, Mark isn’t born of immaculate conception. Seriously. So why is he so into churches? We aren’t even Catholic!

Like last year, Mark wants to visit every single church we pass. And there are at least six or seven churches within walking distance of my parents’ place, in the city centre. Most churches are dark, small, damp and empty. But then, there is the huge Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul, and that one is majestic enough that even I don’t mind going inside.

Just not twice a day, alright, Mark?

That really is a beautiful church! I guess there could be worse things for him to be obsessed with?

I guess so! I just wish they weren’t that many churches around 😆

You might end up having to baptise him 😉

Mark’s obsession with churches is just so charmingly weird. It’s amazing how something can come so out of left field and then your kids just love it. Sometimes I wonder if I really did give birth to these three we have here or if they secretly belong to some other family :).

Same feeling here! I can’t even remember how the church obsession started!

This is a beautiful Cathedral, lovely photographs once again. Mark looks adorable sitting there and wondering, little philosopher 🙂

Those multi-colored glass work, I guess it is stained glass art, I have seen them in India as well at the old buildangs (Mughal Era). I just love it; when I picture my place, I always have a stained glass window where I can sit alone and think about all the weird stuff I am too ashamed to say out loud ;p

There is Notre-Dame church to add to your list of “must see” in Ottawa, you will love it. Very classical with stained-glass windows 🙂 (vitraux en français)

Oh yes! I just checked it out and it is beautiful, in fact I just noticed it is right opposite to that sculpture of a giant spider, Mamon. Definitely going on our must-visit-list 🙂

It’s so rare to see him staying still… only in churches!
