France wouldn’t be France without its boulangeries and pâtisseries. Bakers are probably the most-loved artisans and everyone loves their treats, from simple buttery croissants and pains au chocolat to elaborate cakes.

I am not a huge fan of cream but I love anything bread based, like viennoiseries. My drug? Pains aux raisins, sablés aux pommes and anything with some chocolate in it.

I noticed that two North American pastries are very trendy in France right now: muffins and donuts. Almost every bakery chain sells them and this is the first time ever I see them in France!

Macarons are still popular but they are expensive. I haven’t seen any cupcakes in Nantes, although they were featured in a few magazines.

Oh – those macaroons look amazing! We saw some at a restaurant in Toronto called La Marche today and I had some! And then I had brioche. Yum yum pastries!

Brioche is my favourite. You can find excellent ones in any Chinatown in Canada, and they taste like French brioche!

Wow, 3 Euros pour les petits chocolats/biscuits??!! C’est pas donné! Quoi qu’il en soit ça a l’air super bon et je tomberais bien dans les macarons! 😉
