It took me a while to realize a major football event was coming up—I only Googled it once the tramways turned yellow and green earlier this week.
This is how I discovered that FC Nantes was looking for a second consecutive Coupe de France title in the final against Toulouse this Saturday.
I’m not into football but I like big events, crowds and whatever makes people happy, so I spent the evening wandering around the city to take pictures of fans. They weren’t hard to find—it’s a long weekend in France with May 1 on Monday, so plenty of time for some football fever.
On top of all the bars broadcasting the game, there were two big screens and enough room for 20,000 fans on Cour Saint-Pierre and Cour Saint-André. This is where I ended up… to watch Nantes lose against Toulouse, sharing the atmosphere live with Feng on Skype.
