I almost didn’t take my camera to Angers—it was just a spontaneous day trip, one of these “may as well go somewhere because I can” moments.
I love trains and the fact I can get around easily without a car in France. This alone is enough to make me go places, even places I know very well. I’m addicted to travelling, nothing new here. I get unreasonably excited as soon as I step into a train station, a bus terminal or an airport—so many options, so many opportunities, so many surprises ahead!
And this time, Angers delivered in the most surprising way.
The sky was grey but it was warm and it was dead calm, as in no wind at all. The Maine River, right behind the massive castle that makes the Château des Ducs in Nantes look like a LEGO project, was so calm it created a perfect mirror image.
I grabbed my camera and started shooting, suddenly finding meaning in this trip and maybe in life, who knows.
Just go with an open mind, appreciate surprises, enjoy every little moment. Nothing will ever be perfect but anything can be interesting. Find something that makes you happy and share it.
