Visiting the Parque Zoológico in Mérida – Worth it or Not?

We are now in Mérida, the biggest city in Yucatán… more on this later.

Mark’s new game is chasing pigeons with the same fierce determination as if he was hunting for food. Unfortunately, the pigeons fly and my son doesn’t (phew, running after him is tiring enough!) and Mark gets frustrated after a while.

Since pigeon-hunting all day long wasn’t an option, we decided to take him to the Parque Zoológico del Centenario.

Good pick—the (free!) zoo was located in a huge park with plenty of things to do, including riding a small train. There were more animals than I would have thought and they seemed well cared for too.
