Hi, it’s me, the child, once again staring at this blank blog page. Well, of course, by the time you read this, it will hopefully be filled with a bunch of sentences talking about the things I love in France.

The streets are lively

You know, for me, Canada doesn’t have too many people walking in the streets. You just don’t see people laughing at bars or cafés. It really just feels like nobody has time to just sit down and talk. Plus, there are rarely any cafés or bars near houses or apartments. However, in France, the streets are full of cafés or bars. Heck, some apartment buildings even have cafés or bars under them. All I’m saying is that you can hear the joy or laughter of some people nearby. It just makes France feel so friendly.

It’s easy to get around

Once again, Canada will be used as an example. In Canada, if you want to go to stores or gas stations, it’s just always kind of far away. At least for me. Well, unless you live downtown, I suppose. But in France, a lot of things are accessible, even downstairs from your apartment. Even whole elementary schools are close to where people live. France is so accessible, it just makes everything easier, and it’s great!

There are plenty of old buildings to explore

France is old, no doubt about that. And that means, just like Italy, there are some old but cool-looking structures—Eiffel Tower, 138 years old! Palace of Versailles, 394 years old! Notre Dame, 862 years old! You can even find many old castles! It is just so interesting; it makes you want to explore and learn the history of France.

It’s rarely extremely hot or freezing cold

The weather is something people hate or love. Some people love snow or hot weather, and some people hate it. But France is never too cold, which is nice compared to Canada, Alaska or Russia. And in the summer it can be up to 30 degrees Celsius. Anyway, basically, the weather is quite nice, and it really helps for the final reason.

You can go to great beaches

Drum roll, please, the beach! When it is hot, and you don’t really feel like going around the city, book a train and, depending on where you live, you can find a beach just an hour or two away. It’s fast. Literally the time it took me to write this blog post. The beach I like is Le sables D’Olonne, but there are other places I love too. The beaches I go to usually have shops, sometimes expensive, hello La Baule, but there are accessible. Plus, ice cream. On the beach, people often play football or volleyball. It just has a great vibe, it makes you feel not alone and that’s awesome.
