I’m not a big fan of November. Little daylight, grey weather, cold wind… Sure, Christmas cheer starts early in North America and “Jingle Bells” has been stuck in my head for a couple of days but December is the official Holiday month—not November.

Even nature doesn’t like November. Trees are bare now, the geese all flew South for the winter a few weeks ago and the crops have been harvested at the Experimental Farm, leaving nothing behind, just empty fields.

Nothing? Well, maybe some seeds… and the birds found them.

I was waiting for the bus when I saw this amazing ballet of birds flying tightly knit, expanding then shrinking back into formation and feasting on leftover crops. Kept me busing watching until the bus came!
