If you’re reading this from France, good luck with the train strike.
If you’re reading this from the US, good luck with the once-in-a-lifetime wild weather.
If you’re reading this from Canada, good luck with… ahem, everything, from blizzard conditions to power outages, from ice to snow and more, as reported on CBC. Sorry, eh.
I was quite happy we managed to fly right between the first two major snowstorms of the season in Ontario but apparently, you can’t outrun winter this easily.
The weather in Playa del Carmen was gorgeous for three days. Then we saw big black clouds coming on Friday evening and it poured all night. Christmas weekend? Rainy as well.
Damn it. No matter where we go, it’s raining on Christmas. Looking at you, Rio de Janeiro…
Good thing we packed Mark’s rain jacket, I borrowed it to go grocery shopping.
Mark spent December 24 on the tablet for lack of better things to do. I roamed the city looking for nothing in particular and Feng did the laundry. Very exciting, I know.
No big Christmas dinner for us, travelling will resume when it stops raining—soon, hopefully.

Hi there!
I am trying to Google what to do today in PDC and fell onto your article.
We tried to run away from the Canadian storm haha. This is still better though.
But do you have suggestions of what to do and where to eat today?
Thanks!
I hope you had better luck than us finding some fun today! We didn’t do much, it was chilly and rainy (… as you know).
If you found a great rain plan B, do share 😉
Joyeux Noël Juliette et bonne route pour les 2 quelques mois à venir je suppose ?
Merci! J’espère que tu as bien fêté toi aussi 🙂 Et oui, c’est en gros le plan 😉
Merry belated Christmas !
Same to you! And a early bonne année!
