On the East coast, we say “goodbye” to summer in style. And I’m not talking about this annoying “everything-with-pumpkin” trend but about the lovely fall colours, you can spot around Ottawa these days.

The leaves are definitely falling. It’s a patchwork of colours everywhere you look: green, yellow, orange, red… The leaves are crisp (not all mouldy like in France—yuck!). Mark loves crawling around on the grass, he is fascinated by this “carpet with sound”—this is his first Fall, he didn’t quite get to enjoy it last year in my belly!

One of the best places for Fall colours is Vincent Massey Park. We headed there “en famille” and I tried to capture the Fall rhapsody. Easier than last year, when I was very much pregnant, very much bitchy and very much anxious!

Oh, I miss the fall leaves! Toulouse has the chill weather, but no colorful trees 🙁 I loved discovering fall in Massachusetts during college.

Fall is an amazing season here… I used to hate fall in France, so damp!

Ah, that’s what I miss in Buffalo. Here in Berlin, autumn is too wet; there’s mostly yellow leaves here, not quite the spectrum of colors in North America. And because there’s plenty of rain, autumn leaves don’t have the chance to dry up and get crunchy. Hence, they’re a nuisance, they stick underneath your shoes, they clump on the ground, and yes, they get moldy. Yuck.

I hear you about the rain – we had the same kind of damp weather in Brittany, where I grew up.

Aww Fall ! The “everything with pumpkin” trend can be super annoying indeed. In Baltimore, it still feels like summer with a bit of fall some days.

So jealous! Here in Bordeaux most of the leaves are still on the trees and the leaves are still green.

I love the shot of you holding Mark in front of Carleton University.
