Most years, the Labour Day long weekend brings cooler temperatures and this familiar shit-Fall-is-coming reminder.
Not this year. It’s been very hot in Ottawa since we came back, with regular heat and thunderstorm warnings. Labour Day was no exception—35°C, hot, steamy and sweaty.
I’m actually enjoying this, even though I drank two bottles of water in one afternoon.
We ended up at the splash pad for some water fun. The Plant recreation centre and Plouffe Park beside it are one of my favourite spots in Ottawa. It’s right at the corner of Little Italy (Preston Street) and Chinatown (Somerset), there is a Bridgehead coffee shop nearby… and bonus for kids, the fire station is in front of the park, so they get to see the trucks on their way to some kind of not-so-fun emergency situation!
I’m quite far from being a toddler but but… I want in!!! Seems like so much fun!
… I went in…
It’s still hot there it seems. Here in Berlin, as soon as September came, we dropped from 32 to 16 C, and now I have to wear jackets already!
My parents said the same about France. But we didn’t get spring, so I guess it’s fair enough!
Look at your tan!! I think we were a bit luckier as it was a little cooler up north but as we drove back down it steadily got hotter and hotter!
Hours spent at the playground… not at the beach, so very uneven tan 😆
Omg Mark is so cute and he is getting taller !! Ahh the cuteness !!
🙂
