Originally, I kind of liked my accidental sense of timing—eleven years ago, Mark was born the day after Feng’s birthday, a timely “present” considering that by then, my nine-month-pregnant self had given up on shopping around for the perfect gift.
Feng’s birthday is on October 11.
Mark’s birthday is on October 12.
I won’t ever forget either.
But holy shit, celebrating back-to-back birthdays is a lot of work.
Especially when you have the brilliant idea to blow up 11 balloons to decorate the room.
Mark helped me for Feng’s birthday—he spent a week designing his own funny and quirky Pokemon cards and paper box. He has also (finally!) mastered the fine art of whispering and he can keep a secret so he didn’t tell his dad that two fancy ice cream tubs were hidden in the freezer.
Mark’s birthday was also a fun celebration with the above-mentioned balloons, Pokemon cards (real ones, this time), a new LEGO set and a chocolate cake.
Feng’s you’re not that old and I love you.
Mark, I’m proud of you and I love you.
Now, no more wrapping gifts until Christmas. I have too many paper cuts!
Libras celebrate! Happy birthday to Mark and Feng 🙂
Libras rule! 😉
