It is with great sadness that I must announce that the plague has reached Ottawa. I repeat, the national capital is no longer an epidemic-free area. Contrary to popular beliefs, zombies do survive in the cold.

When I entered Macdonald Gardens Park, immediately realized we were in trouble. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any weapon to fight back and I was forced to hide behind my camera. Some zombies spotted me. However, my French blood is full of blue cheese and this very un-Canadian taste seemed to repel them at first.

Soon, a long horde of newly-deads, including Colonel Khadafy, marched down Saint Patrick Street, blocking the traffic and scaring passer-by. Ottawa citizens stood no chance against the zombies, lurching and groaning for brains. The police could barely contain the madness. I stood on the side, trying to document the apocalyptic invasion. I risked my life for these pictures.

I don’t think I was contaminated. Yet I’m hungry too. For brains… juicy brains…

Some of those costumes are amazing – and scary!
Were there children watching the parade? As a child, I would have been terrified.
(But then, I was frightened by the movie The Wizard of Oz…)

Yes, there were a lot of kids and they seemed to be just fine. I guess if parents explain the event beforehand…

The other night, I was heading back home from the university, and I sat next to one of these zombies! His dead skin was quite realistic!

I think it was more university-related, as all the participants were students. But then again there might be something happening in the city that I am just not aware of.

That is one creative group of zombies! I don’t know where to start! That face zipper mask was very original But, they all seem to be full of blood and very mad as some are armed.

I remember seeing a news report about the Zombie walk in Paris and it seemed much less colorful than this walk.

Ha! Blue cheese as a zombie repelant! I am not French but since I eat a lot of French cheese too, I must have also have immunity. ..

Oh, so they have it in France too? That’s pretty cool! I first heard of it in Canada but I guess it’s a type of event that can be held everywhere in the world.

Yeah, zombie walks are everywhere — Toronto’s was last weekend, too. But I’ve photographed two of them and decided that’s enough blood and brains for me!

LOL @ the texting zombie. Technology is so addictive, even the undead can’t be away from it for too long! 😉

That chick with the zipper face mask is amazing! How the hell did she make that?

I know! I think the zipper part is hidden in her hair. I stared at it for a good two minutes trying to figure it out!
